RI Writers Make Waves in "Win With Words" Competition!

 News

Each year, Remuera Library runs a short story writing competition called Win With Words. Supported by the Ōrākei Local Board, the competition is open to Year 7 and 8 students who live in or attend schools in the local area. It offers cash prizes, book vouchers, and special awards for stories with local themes.

Students were invited to write a 500-word story on any topic of their choosing or based on this year’s theme, “The Wave.” This year, Remuera Library received over 150 entries, and six of our talented students were selected as winners! The formal prizegiving was held on Thursday, 16 October.

Congratulations to the following students for showcasing their creativity and storytelling skills:

  • Edward McBeth

  • Miara Tiwari

  • Tiffany Zou

  • Indie Burdett

  • Indi Priest

  • Olivia Jackson
