Kia ora koutou!
This week, our school was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week)! It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to dive into the beauty and richness of Te Reo Māori and Māori culture, and they absolutely rose to the occasion.
We kicked things off with a lively game of kī-o-rahi, a traditional Māori ball game that had everyone on their toes. It was a perfect blend of teamwork, strategy, and good old-fashioned fun, and it was great to see students collaborating and cheering each other on. Beyond the field, the friendly competition continued with card games and a variety of other activities that kept the energy high all week long.
Seeing our students so engaged and enthusiastic was truly special. They didn't just participate; they embraced the spirit of Te Reo Māori, laughing, learning, and celebrating together. Tino pai! (Awesome!) It's a powerful reminder of how language and culture can bring people together and create lasting memories.
We're so proud of our students for their enthusiasm and for making this year's Te Wiki o te Reo Māori an unforgettable one. We look forward to continuing this journey of learning and celebration throughout the year.
