U45 rugby team travelled to Marist Rugby Club grounds on Tue 21st June to take part in the Interzone Auckland Championships. Due to the cancellation of the Central Zone competition the team had not yet played together so beginning at this level was an unknown.
The boys had a very successful day not losing a game and drawing with the team who won the competition 12 - 12, St Peters.
They finished in 2nd place overall which was a great result out of all of Auckland, although they were 1 conversion, that hit the posts, off winning the whole competition.

The open weight rugby team travelled to Avondale racecourse on the 16th of June to take part in the Central Zone Auckland competition.
The boys had a tough day at the office losing 3 of their 4 games. However, they showed amazing character during the day, never dropping their heads and wearing their jerseys with pride. In the end the boys made it an enjoyable day where they learned lots of new things. This team should be proud of how they held themselves during the day.

It did not take much to fire up the boys for the Interzones competition as they had a lot to prove from the previous Central Zones outing.
First up was St Peter’s, a game that the boys and coach earmarked as a tester for the whole tournament. RI took it to St Peter’s, scored first and dominated the first half. St Peter’s, a little shell shocked, regrouped and came out better in the second half to convert their try in front of the posts to take the win 7 - 5

A great day of rugby out at Avondale Racecourse. Remuera U45kg were expecting a tough day of rugby and they were not disappointed.
First up, a friendly game against Glen Eden who were an invitational side. As per last year they were our toughest opposition. A very well drilled side especially at the break down caused a lot of disjointed play for Remuera and they struggled to get any momentum. A good game to warm up the boys!
