Derek was elected on to the BOT in 2019 having previously being a Parent Trustee and Treasurer on the Meadowbank School BOT from 2016 - 2019. Derek and his wife Sarah's eldest son, Isaac started at RI in 2019 and their younger son, Rowan will start in 2020.
Derek has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering where he was involved in the development of a unique wind turbine for electricity generation. For the past 16 years he has worked in investment banking at Bancorp advising senior management and boards across Australasia. He is a Member of the Institute of Directors, currently sits on the Board of Directors at Bancorp and Majestic Transport and is on the committee of a local hockey club.
