Science Extension Trips

This term the science extension group undertook 2 fieldtrips.

The first was to the Photon Factory @ Auckland University. The Photon Factory is a laser research and product development laboratory within the Physics Department. Students received a tour of the facility and question and answer session with researchers.

More recently, the science extension group were also lucky enough to visit Thermo Fisher Scientific in Penrose. Here they were again treated to a site tour, this time including a gowning up experience for working in a biological clean-room.  They were also presented with temperature data loggers to take home to monitor temperature over a number of months.
