Dunedin 2019

On 18th August 30 students and 3 teachers, Mr Beckett, Mr Whitehouse and Ms Choat left Auckland airport to travel to Dunedin and Queenstown for a week.

Students were hosted by families from Tahuna Intermediate School for the first 4 days and from this base we explored Dunedin and the surrounding area.

Highlights were a Wildlife Harbour cruise, a visit to Lanarch Castle and the Albatross Colony, although students may have rated the visit to the Hydroslide a top 2 event!

On Thursday we travelled to Queenstown stopping on the way to pan for Gold. We found some but not enough to pay for the trip!  The next 2 days were spent skiing Coronet Peak in perfect conditions and we experienced snow falling from the sky as we left the ski field Friday evening.

Sunday we bused back to Dunedin via Arrowtown to spend one last night with our host families.

A fantastic trip with a wonderful group of students and teachers where lasting memories and friendships were made. A very big thank you to all who made this great trip happen!
