Central Zones Boys Basketball

19th Sept our CZ team headed to North Shore Events Centre for a day of basketball. Our first game was against Kowhai School. They quickly took the lead with the first shot then Kowhai scored. It was a close game right to the end with Kowhai scraping a win 12-11.

Next we played Waikowhai. They took an early lead but we came back. This was a tough team to play and we finished with a score of 16-13. Our final game of our pool matches was Waiheke High. The boys were keen to fight back, started off strong making some good lay-ups and stole some rebounds winning 20-10 coming 3rd overall in our pool games.

We then entered the knockout phase. We had 2 games. First against St Therese winning 35-7. Then we played against Wesley and they matched us point for point. A couple of shots from the 3 point line edged us into the lead and a couple of shooting fouls resulted in our final win 22-18.

A great performance from the boys, they did RI proud with their effort, performance and their attitude.
