RI has three cricket teams: Year 7 Boys, Year 8 Boys and Mixed Girls.  Players are expected to commit to the entire season including at least one practice per week at a time agreed with their coach.

Trials are held early in February for all teams, dates and times to be published in daily notices.

The boys’ cricket teams compete in the ActivePost Cup and the girls’ team competes in the ActivePost Shield.  Games run throughout Term 1 with some games in Term 4 (depending on the success of the team).  Games are played at a time agreed between the participants but usually mid-week after school.  Both the ActivePost Cup and the ActivePost Shield culminate in a national tournament made up of the top teams from each region and held in Term 4 each year.

The Central Zones competition for girls is held at Melville Park, Epsom usually late in Term 1.

In Term 4 there is also a six-a-side competition for boys and girls hosted by the Auckland University Cricket Club.

There is no fee associated with playing cricket for the school.  Players wear RI PE uniform unless they have their own cricket whites.  The school provides helmets and other gear however players are welcome to use their own.

Coaching and Team Management

We have been fortunate to have the support of Parnell Cricket Club for coaching however we appreciate offers of help from parents and friends.

There is an opportunity during the registration process to indicate any offers of assistance.
